United Arab Emirates
A global crossroads on the Gulf
The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates on the Arabian Gulf, where deserts, mountains and a fast-growing coastline sit alongside some of the world’s best-known skylines. Dubai and Abu Dhabi draw business travellers, holiday makers and people building a life abroad, and the country’s airline hubs make it a natural stopover between continents.

Who stays in the UAE
The emirates attract a distinctive mix of guests, from executives and event visitors to families seeking winter sun and newcomers settling in for work.
Business and event travellers
Conferences, exhibitions and meetings fill the calendar through the cooler months, and many visitors prefer a home with a kitchen and space to work over a hotel room.
Stopovers and holidays
Airline hubs make the UAE a convenient stop between Europe, Asia and Africa, and many travellers extend a layover into a few days of sun, shopping and sightseeing.
Relocation and longer stays
Newcomers often need several weeks to arrange accommodation, paperwork and schooling. A furnished serviced home gives them a settled place to start, with dates agreed openly.
Getting there and getting around
Dubai International and Abu Dhabi’s airport connect the country with most major cities, and road links between the emirates are fast and well maintained. Traffic drives on the right, taxis and ride-hailing are plentiful, and Dubai has a metro and tram network. Public transport is air-conditioned and contactless payment is widely accepted. Rush hours can be slow, so allow extra time for airport journeys.

Beyond the skyline

Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Dubai is known for the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and a creek-side old quarter of souks and historic houses, with beaches along a long Gulf coastline. Abu Dhabi, the capital, is home to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and a seafront Corniche made for evening walks.

Desert, mountains and coast
Beyond the cities, the desert offers dune drives, camp evenings under clear skies and a sense of space that surprises first-time visitors. The Hajar mountains provide cooler air and hiking, and the east coast has quieter beaches and snorkelling. Winter is the best season for outdoor days.
Before you travel to the UAE
Summers are very hot, so most outdoor activity takes place from November to March. Arabic is the official language, English is widely used in business and hospitality, and the local currency is the dirham, with cards accepted almost everywhere. Visa and entry rules depend on nationality and change from time to time, so please check the latest requirements before you book flights. Dress codes are relaxed in tourist areas, though modest clothing is expected in mosques and some public places.
Where we stay in the UAE
Our UAE home is in Business Bay, Dubai, the country’s largest city, where a business district, a long coastline and a global airport sit within easy reach of each other.
Booking direct in the Emirates
In a destination where plans often hinge on flights, events and short-notice changes, speaking directly to the team that looks after the home is a real advantage. We can confirm arrival details, adjust dates when schedules move and explain how each building works before you land. Everything is agreed in writing, and our 4.98 Superhost rating reflects the care behind it.
