Travel time eats into rest, so proximity to your place of work is worth thinking about carefully. Tell us which site you will be working at, your usual start and finish times and how you plan to travel, and we will suggest the home that makes the journey simplest, including night-time returns and where you will park or catch public transport.

Two hospitals share one site on Rickmansworth Road, at the western edge of Northwood.
Mount Vernon Hospital
Run by The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Rickmansworth Road, HA6 2RN), with inpatient, outpatient, day surgery, therapy and diagnostic services. Some Hillingdon Hospital services have moved here temporarily while the Trust prepares for its new hospital, so check which site your department uses.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre
The cancer centre on the same site is run by a different NHS trust, and its future location has been the subject of public consultation. If your placement is with the cancer centre, confirm your employer and base before you book.
Bishops Wood Hospital
A private hospital in the grounds of Mount Vernon (HA6 2JW), part of Circle Health Group.
Getting to work
Northwood is the nearest Underground station to the hospital site, and the Trust asks people to come by public transport where possible because its car park is very busy. Tell us your shift times and we will talk through night-time journeys and parking at the home.
Ayda Stays is independent. We are not part of, or contracted to, the NHS, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust or Circle Health Group, and we do not provide staff residences. Staff, agencies and departments can book with us directly.

Flexible around your rota
Rotas move, placements are extended and a locum shift can appear at short notice. We keep our arrangements flexible so that your accommodation can keep pace, adjusting dates where availability allows and telling you plainly where it does not. If your contract or training post may be extended, mention it when you enquire and we will plan with a margin.
Questions we are often asked
Can I check in or out at unusual times?
Arrival and departure times can be discussed in advance, and we will do our best to fit around your shifts, including early starts and late finishes. Tell us your rota or likely times when you enquire.
Is the accommodation suitable for sleeping during the day?
If you work nights, daytime rest matters, so tell us when you enquire. We will describe the home’s bedrooms and surroundings honestly, including anything that could affect sleep, so you can choose with confidence.
Can agencies or trusts book on behalf of staff?
Yes. Staffing agencies, departments and individual employees are welcome to enquire. Tell us who the guest is, who will pay and where confirmations should go, and mention any reference or purchase order requirements early.
Can I stay for a short placement or a long rotation?
Both are welcome. Short stays for a single placement and longer stays for a rotation or training post can be arranged, and stay lengths are agreed with you directly.
Can I bring my family if I am relocating for a new post?
Yes. If you are moving for a new post, tell us how many people are travelling and whether anyone has particular needs, and we will recommend a home of a suitable size.
Is this NHS staff accommodation?
No. Our homes are privately managed serviced accommodation, not trust residences. You, your agency or your department can book directly, and we confirm the details of the specific home before anything is booked.
